Background

The Richards Design and Build website needed a complete overhaul, to better reflect the ‘design’ side of their business, and portray the right image for the kind of clients they wanted to attract. I had worked with the Richards Architectural Technologist several years previously, and he recommended me to Kurt Richards, the owner. Kurt was happy to have me on board, joining the team that also included web designer Luke Murray of Concierge.

Process

We began with extensive meetings to look at the kind of clients Richards wanted to attract, and design a website that would meet their needs, as well as speaking their language. Once that was established, I drafted the text for the main site, and several portfolio pages detailing projects which Richards have been involved with. These were discussed, finessed, and published on the site.

At that point I began work on the Knowledge Hub, an extensive info-bank of useful articles, covering all stages of the design and build process, from how to start, planning permission, choosing windows, and more. This involved long conversations with the Richards team to pick their brains, and extensive research. I published these myself, using WordPress, including choosing images, once they had been approved for content and accuracy.

As of November 2024, there were 25 live posts in the Knowledge Hub.

I was also involved with finessing an onboarding questionnaire for clients, and have drafted a seven-email chain offering an intro to working with a design and build company to create your dream home.

Result

I was brought into this project in March 2024, the main site went live in July 2024 , and I had populated the Knowledge Hub with 25 articles by November 2024.
