And it’s landed!
I have a new website that everyone can see.
From being a figment of my imagination at the start of the year, it’s taken until November to launch it, but we haven’t hurried, and other things have periodically taken precedence at intervals. So here we are.
What do you think?
Tying off loose ends
Before Christmas I had several small meetings with Emily at Webfooted Designs, and lots of messaging with Matt at Retina Digital. We needed to make sure that everything was working before Emily transferred it over, and that it arrived in a shape that Matt could easily unpack.
While Emily was tidying things inside the website, my sister was combing through the outside of the website. Yes, even professional writers and proofreaders need an independent proofreader! There weren’t many typos, but she pointed out several places where I’d used the same phrase twice in a paragraph. And has also been weeding out a few commas. I might like commas a bit too much.
New newsletter and downloads
As part of the redesign of the website, I’ve re-thought how I share the useful downloads I created last year. I have a handful of PDF documents looking at proofreading, and blogging for your business, and how to write case studies, amongst others. I did just have them free to download, but Emily suggested I exchange them for peoples’ email addresses. And add those people to my newsletter mailing list.
Which I needed to invent in the first place, to add people to it.
THAT was what took the time since November! Oops!!
If you are on the mailing list, you should get an email soon. If you don’t, or are new here, then please do sign up to be on my mailing list. I promise I won’t spam you.
